Alakazam offers a wide selection of well designed, playable toys that inspire people of all ages to be creative and get silly. We’re design nerds who believe in the power of play!

1. IS IT WELL DESIGNED?
We pay special attention to design, and that means not just whether a toy is pleasing to the eye (though that’s a big consideration.) We ask how hard it is to get from A to B, if it’s easy to clean, and if it’s hardy enough to withstand a good play session. Most importantly, we love toys that invite children to be creative. The very best in toy design inspires active brains and bodies, and that is what we strive to carry.
2. IS IT PLAYABLE?
If it is meant to sit on a shelf and be looked at, you likely won’t find it at our store. We carry products that are sensory, from the silly to the sublime. We believe that toys help people of all ages grow, learn, and discover new things about themselves and the world.
3. IS IT INCLUSIVE?
We strongly believe that every child should not only see themselves reflected in our store, but children who aren't like them as well. We think seeing and understanding that there are different kinds of people in the world is where empathy begins, and that's what we want for the future. We strive to carry toys, dolls and games that are as diverse, beautiful and interesting as our community!
4. IS IT AFFORDABLE?
Raising kids is an expensive business! A toy store should be a place that is a refuge from the difficulties facing us in our everyday lives.That’s why we pay special attention to price point. We do carry some investment items, but only when we really believe in them (and when we do it’s usually because we think they’ll provide years of fun.) You can come into our store and purchase something for under a dollar!
5. HOW IS IT MADE?
We do our best to support companies that make healthy products that are kind to the earth, because we believe that we should leave our world a better place for our kids. We have a wide array of toys from responsible makers like Green Toys, Tenderleaf Toys, Plan Toys, Eco-Kids, Haba, Tegu, Under the Nile, and more!
